History

About Us

Lantana Games is an educational game development studio in every sense. By working with and mentoring students with a passion for all areas of game development, we are a team that helps young creatives thrive. We are dedicated to the development of next-generation educational games, using computers, game consoles, mobile devices, and VR to bring learning to new horizons. We give students and graduates the tools and knowledge to work with us, build their own teams, and make great games. With a growing portfolio of educational titles like Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty and Children of Liberty Early Access, and working with schools like Becker College, MassDiGI, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and Northeastern University, Lantana Games is THE team where young developers get the experience they need to enter the game industry. Our goal is to create a space where designers, artists, programmers, composers, and more can come together to make great games with a positive influence

Team History

Lantana Games was founded in November, 2009. We have always focused on children's and educational game development. We have presented our games at events like PAX East, BostonFIG, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Indie Arcade expo. We have been featured in publications like VentureBeat, Mashable, Polygon, PC Gamer, The Boston Globe, and more. Our first commercial product, Children of Liberty, was a Kickstarter featured project, and our followup game, Mondrian - Abstraction in Beauty, won the 2016 Indie Revolution Expo's Audience Choice Award. Children of Liberty is still in development, and we have also begun production on Mondrian's sequel, Mondrian - Plastic Reality. In 2014, we began working with schools like the Savannah College of Art and Design and Becker College to help students with their work and give them entry-level opportunities in game development. In 2017, we became a partner of Northeastern University's prestigious Co-Op Program. As of 2018, our audience spans the globe, with 20,000 gamers having poured hundreds of hours into Mondrian - Abstraction in Beauty and eagerly awaiting the release of Children of Liberty.
