The long wait is finally over! Well… hang on… has it been a long wait? I am uncertain. Anyhoo, the original Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty, as featured at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Indie Arcade exhibit in 2016, is now available on CD-ROM at We the Indies. Yes, an eleven year old game is now on CD-ROM in the year 2026. How crazy is that?!
This physical edition is just the CD, but of course when you own a CD, nobody can come take it away from you because a server shuts down or licenses expire. It is the 1.3.1 version of the game which has been on Steam for years. It comes in a very nice jewel case which features nice prints of some of the art from Abstraction in Beauty. If you happen to own the physical edition of Plastic Reality from itch.io, it should look perfect sitting right next to it.
